Whitlock has an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and passionate Rack Fabrication Production Manager!

The Rack Fabrication Production Manager is responsible for planning and managing production of audio visual equipment staging activities including analyzing and implementing improvements in efficiency, throughput, quantity and quality.   The Fabrication Manager will also be responsible for overseeing product staging and for the testing of AV equipment as well as system operation testing prior to deployment for installation to customer sites. The production manager is responsible for equipment rack fabrication compliant with Whitlock drawings, wiring diagrams, work instructions and quality assurance standards.

Strong organizational skills, communication skills, understanding the project scope of work, and attention to detail are key elements of this position.  A background and/or certification in Lean-Sigma methods is required.

Job Requirements

  • Manage the setup, test, calibrate and commission equipment in the equipment racks and external devices as required to produce fully functional systems. This includes video displays, display systems, screens, cameras, switchers, scalers, processors, transmitters, receivers, interfaces, microphones, mixers, amplifiers, controls, and other devices.
  • Ensure all equipment racks are produced in accordance with work instructions and comply with workmanship standards.
  • Perform quality test procedures and ensure product complies with test acceptance requirements.
  • Collaborate with Control Systems Programmers to sure that all system devices interact with the control system to produce expected and results.
  • Take a proactive position of responsibility for executing Whitlock projects on time, on budget, and meeting minimum quality standards.
  • Provide shop estimates for rack fabrication and equipment staging in support of proposals.
  • Provide support to installation staff as required.
  • Work with Warehouse Manager to coordinate logistics of receiving equipment and delivering completed staged systems.
  • Monitor and ensure an adequate level of inventory for Cables, Connectors, Hardware and other consumables for the staging process is maintained.
  • Minimum 5 years of production experience in a LEAN environment
  • Lean Green-belt certification
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Self-sufficient, self-motivated, organized, reliable and punctual
  • Professional demeanor and good people skills including the ability to interact well with customers, office personnel, field technicians, engineers, sales, vendors, management, etc.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a continual basis/ must be able to push 150 lbs.
