Overview:

The role of the Staging Manager is to provide organization and coordination of equipment, materials and drawings required for the integration of audiovisual systems for Whitlock customers. This work will be done at the Whitlock branch and involves inventory of equipment and materials to be available on time to meet integration schedules. The Staging Manager is in charge of the equipment rack fabrication for projects in accordance with Whitlock wiring diagrams and standards for quality assurance. Strong communication skills, understanding the project scope of work, and attention to detail are key elements of this position.



Duties:

Work directly with the Technical Operations Manager, Technical Operations Coordinator, Project Managers and Engineers to provide coordination and support for branch Technical Operations on client projects.

  • Support minimum profitability goals of the operation while maintaining a high level of quality and customer satisfaction in all work performed.
  • Work to position Whitlock as a leader in the local market with a reputation for high value, customer service and quality.
  • Take a proactive position of responsibility for executing Whitlock projects on time, on budget, and meeting minimum quality standards.
  • Perform any other assigned tasks by immediate supervisor, Regional Director, Regional Operations Manager, Systems Integration Manager or Corporate Management.
  • Review all system drawings to be sure of accuracy. Mark up needed changes and coordinate with project Engineer for updates.
  • Ensure all equipment racks are properly loaded and wired in accordance with system wiring diagrams.
  • Setup, test, calibrate and commission equipment in the equipment racks and, if possible, external devices as required to produce fully functional systems. This includes video displays, display systems, screens, cameras, switchers, scalers, processors, transmitters, receivers, interfaces, microphones, mixers, amplifiers, controls, and other active and passive devices.
  • Collaborate with Control Systems Programmers to sure that all system devices are setup appropriately for control ,and interact with the control system to produce expected and reliable results.
  • Execute the scope of work as per contract documents.
  • Meet with the client/consultant to demonstrate system functionality if required.
  • Coordinate with the Technical Operations Coordinator to make sure required miscellaneous materials (cable, connectors, hardware) is in inventory or is purchased.
  • Provide back up to the Technical Operations Coordinator during periods of absence.
  • Provide support to installation staff, if required.
  • Maintain construction and installation schedules.
  • Troubleshoot problems as identified.
  • Assist and/or Complete the Quality Assurance testing of the AV systems.
  • Report discrepancies/problems to Project Manager.
  • Communicate project progress at defined intervals.
  • Complete punch list items as identified.
  • Maintain cleanliness at the shop/staging area.
  • Provide quality customer service to the client.
  • Complete timesheet on-line on a weekly basis

Required Skills
  • Requirements:

    • Minimum 3 years of experience in the installation and commissioning of audiovisual systems
    • InfoComm CTS certification is required
    • Current manufacturer certifications for at least 2 audio DSP platforms (examples: Biamp, ClearOne, Polycom, BSS, Lectrosonic, Peavey, QSC)
    • Current manufacturer certifications for at least 1 video processing platforms (examples: Vista, Spyder, Chrisite processors, Jupiter processors, Barco processors, Extron processors)
    • Manufacturer certifications for at least 1 control system platform (examples: Crestron, AMX, Extron)
    • Strong computer skills including; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint), Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Project, Internet, etc.
    • Specific aptitude with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to sort, cut, paste, produce formulas and convert Whitlock data to client or consultant specified formats.

    • Must be able to push 150 lbs.
