Overview:

The role of Key Account Specialist (KAS) requires excellent customer relationship skills and the ability to support and aid assigned Account Managers.  Responsibilities include partnering with our experienced Account Manager and Design teams to design and sell mission-critical and high profile integrated audiovisual and videoconferencing systems.  The Key Account Specialist is expected to be a point of contact for business development and the escalation point for project performance, requiring excellent communication, task management and organizational skills, in addition to industry experience and up-to-date product knowledge.



Goals

  • Execute Account Manager’s strategy on assigned customers
  • Increase Managed Services attach rates
  • Proactively review customer relationship and look for opportunities to upsell Whitlock service offerings
  • Pursue new opportunities within assigned customers

Duties

  • Compile marketing binders, presentations and PDF overviews that properly illustrate Whitlock’s experience, portfolio and strengths for specific opportunities and markets.
  • Participate in current key manufacturer training and review literature to competently present effective solutions to clients.
  • Effectively review bid specifications, properly outlining Whitlock requirements, deadlines and risks.
  • Ensure timely and comprehensive engineering requests and deadlines are met
  • Lead overall presentation, accuracy and completeness of Whitlock proposals to clients.
  • Aid in turning over a complete package and to immediately notify Technical Operations management of the award and any immediate customer expectations.
  • Provide the Customer Service Representative (CSR) a complete package for successful proposals, consisting of detailed customer pricing and associated costs that match the customer contract and/or purchase order.
  • Assist in updating pipelines and sales forecasts
  • Follow up and develop incoming leads designated to the assigned Account Manager

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelors degree preferred. Associates degrees with extensive industry experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of two (2) years sales experience including managing high profile client relationships.
  • A minimum of two (2) years in the audiovisual, videoconferencing or broadcast fields.
  • Ability to market and develop business opportunities with limited support or daily direction.
  • A strong familiarity of the local marketplace for Whitlock target product and services.
  • Current familiarity with commercial audiovisual, videoconferencing and broadcast manufacturers of equipment, including some direct training.
    • An abbreviated list includes Extron, Crestron, AMX, Barco, Christie, Clarity, Mitsubishi, Jupiter, Peavey, Biamp, NEC, Sharp, Sony Broadcast and Presentation, Middle Atlantic, Shure, Draper, Stewart, Da-Lite, Autopatch, RGB Spectrum, Tandberg, Polycom, Ross, Grass Valley, among others.
  • ICIA InfoComm Certified preferred.
  • Excellent customer communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong ability to close business, securing orders under acceptable company terms and margins.
  • Strong computer skills including; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint), Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Project, Internet, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Good math skills, including calculation of gross profit margins and markup.
  • Specific aptitude with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to sort, cut, paste, produce formulas and convert Whitlock data to client or consultant specified formats.
  • Team player.
  • Self-sufficient, self-motivated, organized, reliable and punctual.
  • Professional demeanor and good people skills including the ability to interact well with customers, office personnel, field technicians, project managers, vendors, management, etc.
  • Excellent work ethic and dedication to schedule commitments.
  • Ability to travel regularly, daily within the local area and additionally through the U.S. for customer visits, site surveys and assessments. This includes providing your own reliable transportation and mileage reimbursement.
